Position: Shipping & Receiving Clerk

Purpose: The Shipping & Receiving Clerk verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments, prepares items for shipment by performing the following ‘Principal Accountabilities’ to quality and productivity standards. Operates lift truck, hand truck, or pallet jack to convey, move or hoist materials to proper departments or areas.

Principal Accountabilities:


  • Check customer bins for paperwork and products for parts that are ready to be shipped or picked up
  • Create packing slips through ERP system (Global Shop Systems)
  • Contact customers to advise when parts are available
  • Upon customer arrival, give customer their parts and have them sign packing slips
  • Properly prepare and package parts that will ship to customer
  • Schedule pickups of packages (LTL or Parcel) as needed or have UPS/FedEx labels (BOLs for LTL) printed and placed on box for carrier pickup
  • Other duties as assigned


  • Check package contents compared to packing slip to ensure everything was received
  • Document receipt of items in PO tracking sheet and advise appropriate departments of what has arrived
  • Document any missing items/discrepancies and notify inventory team
  • Give packages and packing slips to inventory team once contents have been verified
  • Forklift operation to load/unload shipments
  • Process paperwork for received shipments (BOL, obtaining signatures, etc.)
  • Other duties as assigned

Regular Hours of Work: Normally 8:00AM – 5:00PM Mon-Fri; Weekends and Holidays as scheduled by Management

Education & Experience Required:

  • High school diploma, general education degree (GED) or equivalent
  • 1+ years Shipping & Receiving experience
  • Strong computer skills to include Microsoft Office Suite
  • Previous ERP/GSS experience a PLUS
  • Basic math skills
  • History of (sit-down) forklift certification
