Project Estimator

REPORTS TO: Production Manager

Work with Engineering and the Manufacturing Departments to create estimates for non-recurring costs and part pricing in a timely and cost-sensitive manner.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Review RFQ with Engineering Department and adhere to proposal due date
  • Review SOW with Engineering Department and ensure all requirements are met
  • Develop bottom-up estimates by concurrently working with Engineering and Manufacturing Departments—Machining,
  • Finishing, Kit Cutting, Lamination, Demold, and QC
  • Review estimate with Production Manager, Project Managers or Upper Management as needed to determine appropriate margins
  • Ensure raw material pricing and labor rates are current on quote sheets
  • Assist Inventory Department in building job routers
  • Demonstrate Excellent Communication Skills with Customers, Buyers, Suppliers, Engineers, and Department Leads
  • Review, Maintain and Organize Open Estimates
  • Receive RFQs from and submit Estimates to Customers
  • Assist in providing information for Order Entry
  • Review Estimates versus Actuals to analyze quoting accuracy
  • Ability to multi-task and work in fast-paced work environment
  • PowerPoint presentations
  • Other duties as assigned

Regular Hours of Work:

  • Normally 7:00AM – 4:00PM, Mon-Fri; Weekends and Holidays as scheduled by Management.

Type:

  • Exempt, Full Time

Education & Experience Required:

  • High School Diploma required
  • Must have 3-5 years’ experience in a Manufacturing environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, SharePoint, etc.)
  • ERP/MRP experience preferred
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Must be able to prioritize workload and work independently
  • Positive attitude, can do attitude
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Available evenings, weekends, and holidays
